Default Took a spill on the sporty!

The day started off pretty well on Long Island. So about an hour into riding with a good buddy, we decided to grab some food. Well, the old man coming out of a Rite Aid parking lot had different plans for my day!
He darted out and stop dead across my two lanes. So it was either go into his car, either over it or through a window, or take my chances and lay it down. So I went down and slid about 30 ft or so.
It ends up I look worse than the Sporty. Broke my left foot and have a good amount of road rash up my left side. The bike's left floor board, shifter peg, mirror as well as turn signal are pretty much shot. My buddy ended up actually riding it home while I was at the hospital.....but just not the day I was hoping for!
That's my rant for the day.....everyone stay safe out there!!

damn that sucks...I had 2 close calls just like that on long island this summer, heart in throat, came down to a last second move that kept me up both times. some of these drivers amaze me. hopefully you'll be back up and riding soon!

sorry to hear man, that's a bummer. Good time to do some upgrading though while your foot heals

Your bike can be fixed. Glad you are okay. Could have been a lot worse. It always seems to be other drivers that place bikers in these types of situations. On another thread of someone going down in the forum, a member provided a youtube video called "Twist of the Wrist" on various aspects of riding safely that I thought was a good reminder of what to do/not to do in certain situations...perhaps something to pass the time while you heal up. https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?...&hsimp=yhs-003

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! It def does suck, and could've have been a hell of a lot worse. Just glad me and most of the bike are in one piece.

damn that sucks, glad you're still on this side of the dirt!

Some jerk off did the same to me yesterday, but I was fortunate and just barely missed him. I pulled up beside him to ask him wtf he was thinking and ended up driving away 1/2 chuckling because he was trying to act like a tough guy and talk smack, but he ended up drooling all over himself.
