RE: Slip-on Install
I just installed my v&h stright shots a couple weeks ago. You'll need a flat head screw driver, ratchet, about a 9" extension, 1/2" socket, 1/2" combination wrench, and a 9/16" socket. It's a fairly easy job, the hardest thing I thought was getting the old ones off. Shouldn't be a problem. Have fun and make her sound good, real good!! Be safe

RE: Slip-on Install
If you're installing Drag pipes it's very easy. I installed a set of those for a guy on a Sporty. Like was said, the most difficult part on my install was getting the OEM mufflers to "slip off", but you won't have to deal with that.
The cross over pipe stays on the bike, and the pipes simply lift off. No problem there. However, there is a metal gasket over each one of the places where the pipes go on the cross over pipe. These gaskets are a "one time use only" item. In my case I could have easily re-used the gaskets. Since I had already purchased another set, I installed them.
To save some frustration, you might want to pick up those gaskets before you get started. I know in some cases those gaskets won't be re-useable at all. They only 10 bucks or less, if I remember correctly. If you're like me, I'd rather spend the small amout of money than get into a job and not be able to finish because I need some small little part, and the dealership is closed for the day.

Which gaskets are you talking about? The cross over pipe or at the slip on.Pardon my ignorance on such matters.
