Default crossbones springer

Will a springer off of a crossbones fit a sportster48?

No. You need an offset springer. A crossbones springer is deraked...If you offset the neck stem it will fit.

Default crossbones springer

I thought all of the late model springers were offset.

No. They only look offset. There are two styles of modern HD springer. FX & FL. One has a 4.5° derake and the other has 7.5°. The top clamp makes it appear offset but if you look at the stem bridge you'll see that the stem is inline...just angled back. And of you look real close you'll see that the top nut is angled.

Any deraked springer will further complicate the clearance issue. However, they can be modified to fit
