Wow, 7 pages. Like driving by a wreck on the highway...just can seem to turn away.
But I mean, seriously, why do you give a **** what someone else thinks of your bike? I've had all kinds of bikes, and am new to Harley's with this Sportster I've had for like a month now. I've been anti-Harley since I started riding...because of these types of people. Judgemental douchebags. And that's the image I had of every HD rider. Then my brother got into Harley's a number of years ago and has been trying to convince me ever since.
Well turns out I *really* like the bike. And most of the Harley types aren't douches after all. But it only takes a few bad apples...
Even my brother said the Sportster was too small. Of course, he's never actually ridden one, and rides a stretched chopper with a 300 rear tire, so, that's his Johnson Compensator.
Me personally, I like just about anything that has an engine and 2 wheels. All types of bikes are cool to me.

Hi,
Been on here a while, and though I rarely post, I read the forums almost every day.
So, let me try to settle this. Sportsters are bike for girls, and boys, women, and men. Who gives a bowl of snot for what some idiot says.
And, if you feel the need to defend yourself, Evil Knievel did his jumps on an XLR 750cc. So, if Sportsters are "girl's bikes," then Evil Kneivel was a pansy little girl. Which, he was certainly not. If they want to prove their big v-twin is "manly" ask them to jump 10 or 12 school busses to prove they're more manly than Evil Kneivel!
As for me, I'll keep turnin' in the twisties, pullin' back on the throttle like my rear end is on fire and the family jewels are catchin', and have a blast every time I jump on my Sportster and ride!
Don't let others ruin your ride with their stupidity. Instead, buy yourself a "DILLIGAF" patch and just point to it and smile before you burn away in a cloud of exhaust.
Ride your ride your way. Don't sweat the little stuff.
