I swapped out my seat one for a turning ****, don't need that screwdriver! You could put a tiny bit of blue loctite on it if you're worried. But they have never come loose. Screwdrivers are good tools when you need leverage though, or that brake cover.

Daily rider carries only phone and cards. We have roadside assistance on the insurance.

My trip tool bag has to cater for the hog and the wife's metric Moto Guzzi, so it contains:

- set of zip ties (still gotta replenish that bag as I just used a few)
- Leatherman tool
- Wera Tool-Check bit ratchet kit w/ variety of Torx, PH and Hex bits, 1/4 socket adapter, and a small 1/4 inch socket assortment (very useful prime quality combination of items which packs really small)
- small 1/4 metric socket set, 1/4 extension
- bottle of Loctite
- tire pressure gage
- flashlight
- two sizes of Knipex Pliers Wrenches (an outstandingly versatile tool, basically pliers and a wrench in a single tool, goes up to 1 3/4)

This kit will fit most small DIY things, for serious repairs it'll still be phone and cards, and roadside assistance.

Making it easier for the thieves, eh? Apparently seats get stolen...they make a security screw to defeat the usual Phillips head.

Well actually right now the passenger seat has a turning **** and my main seat has the passenger seat notched spacer, which is held in place with a hex screw. Are you talking about torx security screws with the dot in the middle? If so those are the biggest joke. We have to use those at work all the time, you can open them with a flathead screwdriver, no special tool required.

No...I agree, those are dumb. If you Google "harley seat security screw" you'll see there are some things out there. There was a thread a couple weeks ago about someone whose seat was almost swiped. People stink.

there we go, nice tool bag!

I looked up security screws for seats and all I found was some with like a little smooth cap you put on top. Is that the one? Doesn't seem very theft proof.

I have the HD tool roll. What I add when going on a trip is an H4 lamp along with some turn signal and stop lamps. I carry a spare shift lever and shift rod.
A main fuse and a bright led flashlight completes the kit.

Thanks.

Yeah the ones I found was a torque screw with a smooth cap. It is not very theft proof, but it is harder to unscrew with the need of a torque bit instead of a screw driver which is more common or someone can use any straight edge to unscrew.

Bought the seat security screw. More secure than a regular screw...it's a star torque bit with a cover.
