Helmet Lock Positioning - where did you mount?

Since I haven't had a chance to get a picture if my own installation, did some web searching and found this picture :

Not a Sportster, I know, but I mounted my Kuryakyn helmet lock to the same tube on my Iron. Just a bit lower. It only needed a bit of work to move some cables etc out of the way to make it fit. I was a bit worried about hanging it so close to the hot engine, but when it is parked, and on sidestand, it luckily leans to left anyway, thus keeping the helmet and the helmet storagepouch away from hot engine. It sort of hangs there nicely between engine and front tyre. So far worked well.

I initially purchased a Kuryakan helmet lock but could not find a place to install the lock where the helmet would not be hitting anything and the lock would sit properly on the tubing. Bought this a while back to lock my jacket and helmet but had no use for it after I installed my saddlebags but found it hangs the helmet in a good place and it is secure by the locking the strap through the fork and the lock around the handlebar. They are not going to cut through the lock.

Not sure how you are going to do it on yours but the only place you have is probably the bars. Down low including the front down tube sucks. Especially for a full face helmet. You can get them off with a small needle nose vicegrip. I sold my front one on ebay after I found out how worthless it was. The one on the back is off a Yamaha. Don't really remember why but for some reason, the Chrome Harley one would not fit on the back of my sissy pad.
