I bought it and love it. Mounted it on in about 5 minutes - didn't need anything extra. It is freaking awesome.

Junk china knock off: not a K&N filter, cheap hardware, no way to vent externally, looks like it needs to be completely removed to clean/oil filter, won't improve performance and may even hinder it, exposed hardware that can get sucked into engine (if you do buy it make sure to locktite those nuts!)
I wouldn't put that on my bike if it was free.

It doesn't have the mounting bracket which will cost you an additional $25-30 depending on where you go unless you already have a similar aftermarket intake. Also, venting goes back into the cleaner which if you are upgrading, I wouldn't want that. Breather bolts are another $35-50. At this point, you could just buy a name brand system and be much happier!

For the price I decided to try one of these “cheap copies”. Removing my preexisting Screaming Eagle revealed a suitable mounting bracket. The Rough Crafts copy fit perfectly in 5-10 mins. It’s now almost four years on and it still performs excellently in my view. My Forty is full-stage one and it pulls like a train. Just in case, I recently decided to buy a second new one as a spare but not needed it yet. I clean and oil the filter regularly- simply unscrew the grill-cover and the filter lifts out - all very easy. I regularly remove the grill to keep an eye on the condition of the throttle/intake and all I ever see is an immaculately maintained intake -manifold system. I still use the supplied breather-bolts; no issues.
My Forty Eight (in the UK) is annually serviced & tested by Harley and all the mechanics comment on its excellent torque and performance.
In summary. I would say try one.
My Forty Eight
you can always swap it out if you don’t like it at this price. I’m a math/mech-engineer & thought all the kit’s components were made well.

Real or fake ?
My situation is a bit different. I've just bought a bike with a Rough Crafts filter already fitted . I was shocked to discover that a real one costs £270 and there are identical ones on eBay for around £20 . So how on earth do I determine if mine is real or fake ? The quality and finish appear excellent and the filter element is the same colour as a K&N . Luckily I have the stock cleaner but I rather like what's on the bike . The previous owner doesn't know by the way.
