Not so forward controls

RE: Not so forward controls
In the attached pictures, what do I do to adjust the height/angle of the pedals? The first one is the shifter and second is rear brake.
I tried loosening the nut closer to shifter pedal, but it wouldn't budge and was turning the whole assembly too much.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

RE: Not so forward controls
You'll have to actually unbolt the linkage from the shifter, move the linkage/eyelet out, tighten the base/locking nut back up to the linkage eyelet, and refasten the eyelet to the shifter. Do the same thing to the other end of the linkage that attaches to the engine/tranny.
For the brake, (I believe the the front is attached with a pin & cotter pin), so detach the front by removing thepin assembly,"unscrew" the linkage a bit, retighten the base/locking nut, and re-install the pin assembly at the brake pedal.
Just remember to leave enought threads in each end & retighten each locking base nut so the assemblies do not loosen up and come apart while you are riding.
Youcanre-do this anytime to tweek the shift lever and brake pedal to the exact position you want. Happy riding!

RE: Not so forward controls
i'm about 5' 7" (1.75m), and is using mid-controls on my 1200R
Looking to shift the controls to forward so that i can have a stretched riding experience,
5' 7" isn't a great diff from 5' 6", so I'm just wondering, how stretched out are you?
Mid-controls and I'm feeling kinda cramped when i have to ride with bent knees, and I keep hitting the pillion's foot cos the pillion foot peg and the rider's controls are pretty close to each other when i put my leg down.

RE: Not so forward controls
I am 5' 7" with a 30" inseam. I do believe my older bike's forward controls might be a bit farther forward than that of the newer sportys. I have my shifter adjusted so it is just above my left toe. The brake pedal is adjusted so it is above my right toe. I know the forward controls on the older bikes can be adjusted to accomodate your needs niskyne.
Lunloon, being that your bike is of the '04 and newer variety I'm quite sure you will have no issues with being "too stretched out'.
After riding my old '96 the newer sportys with the factory forward controls feela bit crampedIMO.
