I did this mod a few weeks ago. Reconsider trying it yourself.
I was hoping to keep the original fender intact in case I want to switch to a passenger pillion set up again, but I will leave the option on the table. Thanks!

If you chop or buy a chopped fender you will not be able to ever have a 2 up ride unless you don't cut the struts which will look bad. Unless I'm confusing what you're talking about.

H-D accessories catalog has a bobbed fender kit for the 150 wide rear tire, 2004 & up.
