Default New to streebikes...looking at Sportsters

I like the idea of a smaller more nimble bike. I plan on riding mostly in town and the longest trips I would ever do is a couple hundred miles one way.

Im also on a budget and I want to buy American. I lookes at Softails, Dynas and Sportsters. I like the forward control layout, the Dynas seem to be more mid. Im about 6ft towfiddy so I dont think Im too big for a Sportsters....suggestions?

I have the 1200 C. Admittedly the Sportster is the most "crowded" when it comes to two up riding. It is more than adequate in the power department but if you find out you do mostly two up riding you might entertain the idea someday of getting a bigger bike like a Dyna or Softail.

The cool thing is, my wife is pretty adventurous when it comes to vehicles so she migh inherit it and I will be able to get something more substantial....its a start

the idea of getting the wife to ride is great. and the sporty is nimble. i never ride more than a couple of hundred miles at a time. with a good seat and grips the sporty is fine. i not only keep up with the bt's but most of them know that in the 1/8 th mile they don't stand a chance to outrun me. i really have never had an interest in a bigger harley. this thing is too much fun

I'm 6'1' and my wife is about 5'5' together we are I would guess about 130lbs with 2 up and we never have a problem at all, I guess a bit more room 2 up would be ok but all and all I love my sporty
