Rush pipes sound great, but their just plain LOUD. Going to try the muffler packing, just hope it don't take away the nice deep sound they have. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I'm going the have the pipes and ceramic coated black (type of powder coating) inside and out, do you think this will quiet it down at all?

Quiet and Harley aren't in the same sentence. If you want a quiet bike, buy a Honda. Just my 2.

I think I'm talking aboud being very loud, not making it quiet. If I wanted it quiet I would of left the stock pipes on it.

This is the reason why Sportster owners get a bad wrap. Sporties sound awesome loud. Sorry for the hijack, just stating fact. Again, just my opinion. I was at a popular bike bar a few weeks ago. A guy showed me his 1200c with a mini windshield and some expensive slip ons. It sounded like a ricer. Didn't tell him that. Harley's are loud and a get in your face bike. You muffel the tone, and your just like everyone else. Too loud isn't good, just too quiet is. Several people I know bought a Harley and changed the pipes from day one.

My 2. Sorry for the hijack.

My 2 on a Harley tone. You should hear it from a mile away. If it doesn't rumble and set a car alarm off at idle or at speeds, it's too quiet.

Dallas I wish you could here this thing, I think it's just a little over the top. I like em loud, but I'm just looking to take the edge off.

Hey Brian. If baffles are in it, it should be just fine. If they are too loud for you, I'd find another set of pipes that you like. I'm told V&H's are just right.
