Default change from cable to fly by wire throttle?

i do a lot of highway cruising and hate the throttle lock on my bike. anyone changed out the throttle cable to a fly by wire? any electronic cruise control that will work with the fly by wire?

Call me old school, but the majority of problems I have had with Harley's have been electrical. The last thing I would do, personally, is add more electrical control. Give me the cables, I'd never swap them out for fly-by-wire...

You are talking major modifications if you want to do that. You will need, throttles, throttle body, new wiring harness, new ecm, bcm, handle bars, and other related computers, switch housings, etc. The expense will be cost prohibitive just for fly by wire with cruise control. You are better off just getting a throttle boss or a new bike that has fly by wire with cruise control.

You can probably modify a Toyota fly by wire. I'm sure you can find a lot of them at the junkyard. Acceleration is great on them I hear.

yeah that didnt even cross my mind about the throttle body, computer, etc etc. sort of seems like a stupid question now.

haha that is funny. now that you mention it. my girlfriends 06 toyota camry started having issues with the throttle body blade motor. that **** would be scary on the bike.

thanks for the input guys. definitely made me realize i didnt think this one through.

If you don't mind the look , I had these on my Buell a few years ago.

It's a cruise control and bar end weight to reduce the vibes also.
Just turn up the throttle while grabbing the end with your pinky.
It can be over ridden if needed or unset quickly if needed also.
It really worked well , not as slick as electronic cruise , but easier than the thumbwheel.
