Sporty starts rough in high summer heat
I live in Phoenix,az and its common that the temperature reaches up to 118f, below say 100f or in winter my bike runs and starts fine and smooth no issues, its when summer is here and we reach high temps my bike has issues starting.
This happens when i been running my bike and make a quick stop (5-15min) and get back on my bike while the motor is obviously still hot, when press n release the start button it will try to fire but nothing , it normally takes 3-4 tries and that is with help of me reving the engine a bit to give it help or it will die out on me, once it starts im good to go .
Im pretty sure its heat related as when i start her up in the morning she fires right up high heat weather or not, its only when its really high heat and ill do a quick stop and try to start her, she will act up.
If it matters i have an arlen ness big sucker breather , cycle shack slip ons, oil is good as when i ride her hard or long i get some blow by.
Anyone else expierence this in high heat weather any tips or suggestions. My bike is a 06 1200 c carb

I guess my first thought is WTF, who want's to ride when it's over 110*???
The first two mechanical suspects would be a weak ignition coil or fuel line boiling.
Once you stop there's no air movement around the motor, and instead of being blown off, heat starts rising from the motor. It could be heating the coil enough for it to not fire properly, or the heat could be boiling the fuel in the fuel line or carb bowl.
First step is to make sure the fuel line isn't laying on the top of the motor.

I would agree with CHarley that fuel line/carb heat soaking would be an issue. I know that after a hot ride that my bike will make a puff out the overflow of the carb due to heat soaking if I leave it in the garage with no air flow.
Normally there is enough of a breeze outside it's a non-issue, but I don't think it's ever been over 110F in my state.
Edit: For kicks I looked it up. The highest it's ever been in Ohio was 113F in one of the most southern parts of the state.
