Default Bolt replacement locator

I'm thinking of changing some bolts for brass versions....for color purposes. Sizes aren't listed in the shop manual. Where do you find the size and thread count for all the bolts and screws?

There are four manuals available for Harley Davidsons. An Owner's manual, the Service Manual, the Electrical Manual and, the one you want, a Parts Manual. In the back of the Parts Manual, a table lists all fasteners with size and thread pitch. Your local dealer should have a copy behind their Parts Counter. Ask to look at it, if you'd rather not buy a copy. You probably know this, but I'm gonna say it, anyway. Different bolts will have different hardness values, depending on the application and what is asked of them.

Didn't know about the parts manual. Thanks! Did know about bolt hardness and yep, brass is much softer than hardened steel. I'll consider carefully which to replace, that's for sure.

Thank you!

Brass bolts are probably a bad idea on a motorcycle, you will never be able to tighten them properly without stripping their thread. I have some experience with brass fuel fittings on old stuff and it's really soft.
