Default question for Sortster 1200T or (1200c) owners

I'm a newer rider moving up to a second bike. I need something that is light touring oriented for my work commute. I am curious at how the Sportster 1200T is on the freeway? I know it doesnt have a 6th gear. I probably wouldnt be getting rid of my Phantom if it wasnt for how buzzy it is at 70 - 80mph. How is the sporty at those speeds. Is it real buzzy or pretty decent? I would think the 5th gear is pretty tall. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I didn't know it was only a 5 speed. Even my little Iron has six gears.

My wife loves her 1200C. I have ridden it quite a few times and I have been impressed. It's very nimble and yet handles highway speeds just fine. I am not quite as comfortable on her sportster as I am on my streetglide or breakout but then the bike is set up for her and she is quite a bit shorter than I am so that would make sense. My wife has no problems keeping up with me and my 6 speeds.

My 1200C is great on the freeway. The mirrors are rock steady at any speed over 65 and I don't feel any buzzing in the handlebars at any speed. Mine turns about 3400 rpm at 75ish.

my sportster hates anything over 80mph. i tend to get speed wobbles. not sure if thats because of my taller bars or not.

My engine starts working properly at 85 MPH on fifth. It becomes very responsive to throttle and is fun to ride.

@rhariz21
Try loosening your drive belt.
Tip: If you want good help on these forums let us know what bike you need help with. Right now I'm guessing you are riding a Sportster 1957-2015.

I've been cruising my custom between 70 and 80 with no issues. Rides like a dream!

If you get a 1200T or C and you want to make the gears taller, it's straightforward to replace the 29-tooth transmission sprocket with a 30-tooth one.
