Question Oil cooler threaded for AN fittings?

Does anyone make one? Don't trust hose/nipple/hose clamp fittings and don't want to have to cut/drill/tap (as shown on Jagg site). Looking for one where the hose fittings are screwed in rather than brazed in.

Thumbs down

Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be something that's available. I emailed Jagg about it and was basically told "our way is good enough". Coming from the drag racing world I don't really agree but I guess hose/nipple is the only way its done for these.

It's not the only way... I dont like hose clamps either and I
really dont like the looks of cut/tap method either, so what I
used was compression nuts or tube nuts. Here's the only
close up pic I have....

hope this helps,

T.

What about at the adapter end? That will take real fittings, right?

Yes if you're referring the the Jagg offset oil filter adapter.
I used a Fragola 1/8NPT-AN6 adapters, AN6 hose-ends
and Earl's Performance AN to Tube Adapter Fittings AT165006ERL.
Got all the fittings & hose from Summit.

hope this helps,

T.

I'm with you on the AN fittings, and not liking the hose clamps.
I also have a back ground in racing, but racing that the car has to make turns.

Although my bike is a touring model, I'm not sure what's available for a sportster.

I held out for an oil cooler that had the -6 AN fitting welded in from Jagg. Then I took and modified the adapter to a 3/8 npt from 1/8 npt, I did not feel those 1/8 to -6 adapters were sufficient.

Then I had line made up at a local race shop that had the crimping press.

Yea, helps a lot. Not very familiar with using tube nuts though, used them a few times on fuel systems to go from rigid line to AN. I'm guessing you just cut off the flare part on the end of the brazed in tube (from cooler), right? Remember the tube nut size?

I have tons of AN stuff around, left over from the car, also can make my own lines with no trouble at all.

No AN fitting equipped coolers from Jagg now, just the tube fittings, brazed in :/

You could do that. What I did was use emory cloth & sand just enough
to get the compression nuts over them. The Earls part number above
should be exactly what you need....
