No special tools I can remember... I've done all mine since day one(services) and really have no special tools... other than all the torques bits and allen wrenches...

With a manual it should be a breeze for you....

If you get into more wrenching than just the basic oil change etc...There are plenty of tools you'll need. I don't know that there are really special tools, but you'll need a wide variety.

For example you'll need a 1 1/8" socket for the rear axle if you ever decide to take the rear wheel off. I was able to get it off with a LARGE set of channel locks, but I didn't want to attempt putting it back on without the proper socket, and torque setting. That's just my most recent tool I didn't have, so it was the most fresh in my memory.

You made a great decision buying a service manual......That purchase will save you literally tousands of dollars in maintenance bills if you keep your bike for many years .....Most problems can be fixed at home.....if you have tools, and a service manual....And of course a desire to learn....Motorcycles are not hard to service, or work on compared to cars, trucks, etc....Much easier access to most componets....etc...Kinda fun actually !......good luck to you....

This forum is the BEST service manual you will probably ever need !

I may be violating some TOS or copyright law here, but if anyone has a copy of this they could part with for a period of time, I could scan the book at my work (we have a high-cap scanner-copier) and post it here as a PDF. Let ME deal with Sheriff John Brown.
