Default Mustang solo seat

I've decided a seat will be the first mod to my 2015 Iron since it is the only thing that really bothers me in terms of comfort. I'm wondering what your all experience is with a few seats especially since I don't want how take away from how nice the bike looks.

So far I've looked at a few mustang seats I'm interested in. The first is the regular solo seat that is apparently very comfortable. I was wondering if anyone has this seat and how they like it both in comfort and style. The other seat is the tripper solo. Again just curious as to what experiences any of you may have with this seat.

I really appreciate any help I can get especially since some of these seats can be rather expensive. I also saw the regular solo has a version with a backrest. Does it look really out of place on the Iron? If anyone can recommend any other seat I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to go for the most comfort but also want style. Pics would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have used the mustang wide solo nostalgic seat on 3 bikes and wife has one on her iron, probably best one for comfort out there, a search on the site will give you plenty of agreement on that. Looks and comfort usually don't go together. Slim and streamlined seldom makes for comfort. If you are small the same seat comes in a 12" wide version rather than the 14.5" wide version. I tried the tripper solo, for me it sucked, worse than stock. Backrests add great to comfort and the mustang is quick release. Are you out of high school? Yes, than you should no longer care what others think of your bike. That seat will be a big improvement, if not enough, some 12.5" shocks will transform the ride again.

Stacks of threads on seats and also Mustangs, they are a favourite in here. You are allowed to have as many seats as you need, say one for looks and another for comfort. Don't try too hard to get one for both looks and comfort - many have tried and.......

Well so far I was leaning more towards the regular solo seat. I saw that the backrest seat is almost $200 extra and I'm not sure if it's worth it just yet. I'm not concerned with what others think of my bike either but I didn't want it looking out of place.

Also I see that even though it is a solo seat that there is a passenger seat you can also get. Are these comfortable for passengers? I wouldn't have a passenger very often but it's just another thought. Thanks for the advice so far.

Nevermind, I just noticed that the solo wide is the only version with the backrest option. Still $200 difference from the normal to wide though. Do you have any pictures of what your wives bike looks like with the seat?

When I had my Sporty I bought the Mustang Solo Seat. I thought it was a very comfortable seat. I could ride for hours on that seat. I would recommend the Mustang Solo for a Sportster.

I found ours last year for around $175 each. I picked up a rear later on. It is comfortable for a passenger, though without a backrest don't expect her to be too happy for long, I have a detachable sissybar. The seat will move you back an inch.

Well I decided to get the Mustang vintage solo with backrest. So far the seat has been the only uncomfortable part of the bike for me but I also think I'll eventually get forward controls. If these seats are as comfortable as everyone says, then I feel like I'll be able to ride forever haha. Thanks for all the input and advice everyone. Also after seeing that pic I like the way it looks.

My son has a Mustang solo with back rest. The backrest is pretty cool, adjustable up and down, fore and aft and easily removable (just pull up on it). When removed theres a little flap that covers the backrest slot.

I love my mustang, had it recovered to better match the bike. Its fading differently than the leather bags so its about time to have it recovered again.

I have the Tripper Solo for a 4.5 Gal Tank. I really like it. Its way more comfortable than the stock one. Looks great to.
