No, couldn't really detect a change ..I mainly did the first service there to establish a relationship with the dealer and also figured they could catch some factory snafus I'm not aware of. I do my own service now but I did get the factory service manual andthe fixmyhog DVD.

celtlion, did you notice any difference in performance when you had the dealer do your 1,000 mile service?

Well $50 more is quite a bit, I paid $8.50 for a 1L Amsoil, better protection and only cost $20 more for each oil change, worth it.

Since I have the service contract until 2009, it's all paid for. Synth is extra. I'm gonna wait until my program is over and I'll do the synth myself.
What's the point of switching to synthetic with2 years worth of milesmiles on the clock? If the dino oil was doing it's job for the first X number of miles and protecting the engine, then why switch? If the dino wasn't doing it's job,, then why switch to synthetic to protect an already worn/damaged engine?

Totally agreed. I switched to Synthetic oil after second oil change. You need Duralube more than synthetic oil after 2 years lol. I am surprised to see different opinions in the forum.

This is not about oil? If you do the service on your own bike and change the trans fluid (sporty)
after adding the new fluid check the level after about 15 min it will take about that long for the fluid
to to get in to the trans under the trap door (it will take about a guart)
