Default Starting Issue Iron 883

2015 Iron 883 with Short Shots and Fuel Moto Micro tuner. My bike doesn't start right away when I push the button. I have to hold it down for at least 4 seconds for it to kick over and do its thing. I see a lot of other bikes and watched videos and this isn't happening on theirs. Could it be that the tuner is somehow doing this or what is it? Even after I ride it for an hour or so and shut it off then go to restart it, it does the same thing.

Thanks for any help.

I am also a bit foggy as to what you mean as not starting immediately. I recently put on a pretty unrestricted exhaust with baffles looking like cheese graters and I noticed it took longer to turn over. Not 4 seconds but maybe a little over a second as opposed to the half second stock. Therefore my guess would be the tune is running a bit rich (I am completely guessing) I believe? But I would wait for those much more knowledgeable on this subject to verify that.

Yes, the starter works but it takes like 3 or 4 seconds of holding down the start button for it to actually fire up, not the normal half second or 1 second like all the other bikes. I didn't think the battery would run out that fast. I normally only ride like once maybe twice a week and go for short trips when I do

Give your battery a good charge with a charger and then see if that helps. If that's the case, start using a trickle charger when you park it. Also you may want to take the battery in for a cranking amps test. The charging system on your ride is designed to maintain your battery, it's not designed to charge a weak battery.
