Default very strange ?

Put my drag pipes back on tonight and started up the bike. About 2 minutes letting it idle oily smoke started to comeout the front pipe. , I just let it keep doing it until the bike warmed up to 100 degrees. I then reved it up to 3500 and held it there until the smoke stopped(about 30 seconds). Pulled the plugs later and everything was fine. The problem went away. Any ideas?? Valve seal , oil ring, Like I said, very strange ..Mark..

Does it do that everytime you start the bike, or only the first time after you put the pipes back on?

Sound like you might have had something inside the pipe that 'burnt off' with heat. Did you happen to get something inside of them when you removed them?

Oh crap, your right, I sprayed brake cleanerall over the pipes after I cut 3 inches off the ends. That may be it . Never did it before..I really shouldn't work on stuff when I'm tired. I'll try it again tomorrow .Mark..

Yeah, when I first put the Hooker Step Tuned pipes on my WideGlide both pipes started blowing smoke after they started heating...

Thought I blew the damn engine, and then realized that Hooker must have had some type of left over manufacturing fluid coating the inside.

They smoked for a few miles until they finally burnt clean, and the problem was solved.
