For those that actually wear helmets..

RE: For those that actually wear helmets..
Maybe insurance companies should just not insure anyone that rides a motorcycle.
Or anyone that has speeding violations while riding or driving any vehicle.
Or anyone with a DUI conviction.
Or people that have received a citation for not wearing required seatbelts.
Or anyone that has caused an accident.
Or the 60% of the population that is considered 'obese'.
Or people that use illegal drugs or drink alcoholic beverages.
The list could go on and on....

I agree, somewhat, but I get a discount on my cager ins for havig airbags. Most of the your examples, you will pay a higher premium if you have done any of these, DUI, accident, you are a higher risk to them. If i get in an accident while i'm working and don't have my seatbelt on, workers comp will deny my claim.
As ins co's try to squeeze more and more profits, they will begin looking at higher cost claims and figure out that helmetless riders have generallyhigher medical costs than helmeted ones. They will move to reduce these costs one way or another. THey may ask you if you use a helmet, if you say no, you premiums will be higher. If you say yes then crash w/o one, you will be denied.
Health ins cos are already screening new clients for insurability, ie: smoking, blood pressure, cancer, etc. If you have a private pilotslicense, most life ins co's will not touch you.

RE: For those that actually wear helmets..
For trips I wear a full face, but just bopping around local I wear my little skid lid. The FF is much better for trips for several reasons: less wind noise, more secure, way more safe, warmer in cool weather. The worst things about wearing a FF is the lesser visibility and the added weight. The skid lid is much better than nothing and it just feels better, although it is less comfy at highway speed.

Unfortuanately I live in a helmet state. I have I think 5 different helmets. I hate the full face, to heavy, hot and restricts view, I will wear it in very cold weather. 3/4 is OK, but only wear when I may run into some rain and can snap on a face mask. Use a 1/2 DOT Approved helmet just about all the time
