What does this mean? Wear a full-face helmet!

I got this off XL-Forum. Here.

This could go on forever!

Two days ago a motorcyclist hit the back of a truck at a high rate of speed. No helmet and lived.

A freind of mine was in a accident in a truck and died. No seatbelt, inturnal injuries.

You hit a car at 40 mph, chances are the helmet won't help.

A video in this forum shows a rider died wearing a full faced.

So. Does it really matter?

Guess it's up for discussion.

HJC, this is the Old one, and the reason I wear the new one.

Wow ******, that's quite a face swipe, or would have been. What happened?

I wear a full face too and prefer it. I don't like the wind on my face at speed or having it dry my eyes out. Also don't like bugs and crap on my face. I've got an AGV Stealth which looks pretty metric, but don't care. It's got great venting and is light weight.

Full-face - always hot or not. I too am a sport Bike convert, and I'm ugly enough and cannot afford to grind my face along the pavement. I'm sure youv'e seen the crashed helmet photos, there is nearly always grind damage to the chin bar area.

Your choice,

Well since I don't give a damn, I wear a half helmet in heavy traffic and nothing in light traffic. If I die, I'll be happy on my bike.

And even if yourunprotected, or marginally protected, head hits something solidyou might not die. You might only suffer a head injury. That might only leave you with memory or speech problems. You might still be happy anyway.

Not preaching, just something you should consider when making your choices.

My full face is my favorite to wear, it keeps the wind noise down and lets me concentrate on watching out for crazies. I also have a 3/4 and 1/2 helmet for warmer days, or when I just want to look cool. Oregon requires a helmet so I have never really thought about riding without, but I believe I would wear a helmet anyway, I also always wear my seatbelt in my car. Just don't see the need in taking the risk!
