Second that
I "play the piano" under my levers while riding

What helps me deal and lessen the tinglings is using one of those spring handgrips to strengthen my grip and forearm.

Numbness on real long rides was an issue for me also.

I just upgraded my grips from the stock (rubber coated sleeve) to this:
Absolutely night/day difference.

I also have carpal tunnel.. actually 8:00 am tomorrow morning I have an Electromyogrphy test with the Neurologist for it to find out the extend of the nerve damage.

Using these grips for a week though I have noticed such an improvement in the numbness that I feel utterly stupid for not upgrading the grips until now.

I'm a drummer. And years of vibration have rattled my nerves.

I have a pair of special wrist wraps that I wear when I play drums. They support the carpel tunnel area and the absorb vibration. And they look like sweat bands so they don't stick out like a sore thumb.

I wear wrist braces at night to ease carpal tunnel..adjusted grip size on bike to fit my hands and all is well, no more numb hands. 200 mile days on my sportster (solid mount) with no problems. BTW I am 70 years old and play at the guitar too.
