Default Oil Drain Tube Cracked and Leaking

Changed oil last weekend on my 2007 XL50 Sportster. Bike is right at 10,000 miles. Noticed a couple of small drips on the floor (never leaked before). Thought maybe I spilled a few drops when refilling.
Long story short, the oil drain tube is cracked near the oil tank fitting.
Hose is pre-molded has a slight angle upwards towards the tank then about 4" straight and a 90* bend with about 9" below the bend.
I'm Guessing its an only HD item.
Has anyone replaced theirs with a rubber fuel line type hose?
Need to find one before the weekend
Found a PN# at Ronnies Parts Finder #63596-06

Not sure if it'd work but have you considered trying a steel braided line similar to oil cooler lines? That way you won't ever have to worry about it again.

The new / replacement item is cheap, just fix it.

You could probably get away with taking the house off and fitting a like sized hose, if that is what you are asking. Id just get the hd part from a dealer if one is nearby. You'll be doing it RIGHT and It will save you the headache of search for a hose to fit and all but, a gently tightened worm clamp and another hose should do you fine.

You'll need to remove the rear fender to get in there. (Maybe other ways) And BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE OLD HOSE...OR YOU WILL TURN A $10 JOB INTO A $200 JOB. the nipple for the drain hose is fragile. I snapped mine off by accident but didn't care since i was replacing the oil tank anyway.

See here:

Long post but there is a half a$$ed write up at the end. In posted #29, you'll see a clear shot of the back and where you'll be working... there also a picture of the broken (hamfisted) nipple. You do not want to f*** this up.

Since you just changed the oil. Just draint and put it back in after you are done.

Easy job, just tedious.

Thanks....ordered new hose, won't be in until next week.
I fitted a 1/2" fuel line to the tank and plugged it off to get me by until the correct part is received.

Looks like you were not alone. Another member just completed the same surgery
