They knew. I'm not going to say anything more on the subject, but I have beaten a 2002 Cobra and a 2000 GT with lot's of mods. They are lead sleds. Sorry! I know guys that have 600 hp Stangs, but the stock ones can't keep up. Just too damn slow, the 06's are a different issue. I'm just too damn light. 238 hp at the wheels. Posi LSD 0 to 60 in 4 seconds 17 psi boost and 2900 lbs.

i was just messing with you dallas. as long as you like it is all that matters.
i stripped my mustang and installed everything into fairmont plus a turbo early this year. why a fairmont? because i like it.

here's a video from nov of my mustang racingmy buddies fairmont. ignore the truck inthe beginning, was a joke for another one of my buds.his fairmont now runs 6.80's (approx 10.7 in the 1/4). my goalwas 10.7, but i justsold the turbo kit and bought my sportster.so hopefully higher 10's with a supercharged nearly daily driven fairmont.

I owned a 83 Mustang GT suped up. I always thought the 5.0 Fairmounts were pretty cool. I bought it brand new back in 83. I remember the z28's always wanted to race me. They were slow back then. Life was good until they came out with the 5.7 HO. It was cat and mouse until they came out with the newer models in the late 90's. The Trans Ams and Z28's were too quick until the 21'st century. The tuners had arrived. People were building little Hondas and other ricers and putting out ungodly horses! The factories were catching on and in the mid 2000's came out with their own. The Mistubishi Lancer Evo, TheDodge SRT4 and the Saturn Redline/Chevy Cobalt SS, the Subaru WRX and the Civic Si. These little cars were made for speed. Kinda ricer blasters off the showroom floor. The Evo 4 is an awesome car. The SRT4 is great but has a hard right torque steer. The WRX is one fine machine. The stock Civic Si is still slower than christmas, but with a turbo would be awesome. Besides all that, I'd rather ride my Sportie!

Not exactly sure what you're saying. The S197 Mustang came out in 05, and stock- will smoke an Ion. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, but a stock Mustang GT has a 0-60 time of 4.9-5.3 seconds, depending upon which mag you read. A stock SN95 2 Cobra put out well over 300 H.P.'s. I would believe that you may have outrun a 00GT, but the Cobra was most likey a GT w/ Cobra badges. The 2002 Cobra was a very short run, and most, if not all were sent to Australia.

78 trans am, bored and stroked 400 with a touch o head work. Built th350 trans, 3.90 rear with a posi, Holley 750, edelbrock intake.I will take any rice up to about 95 mph, then their lighter weight and more gears to hang catch me. But my car sounds a lot sweeter than those fart can carrying sticker board imports.
