Should be able to but you may have to extend your front brake cable.

you mean the hydraulic line is about all that I will have to lengthen? I was told all the other cables could be re-routed is this true?

you should be able to add the 8" bar without changing anything .. at most, others on this forum have needed to loosen the brake line and turn it a 1/4 turn, then re-tighten.

Anything more than 8 and you may need a new brake line.

I'm not sure what mad chemist is talking about as far as turning a 1/4 turn. But on mine I put on some 9" narrow apes I made. I took the stock front brake line into my local hydraulic hose shop. They cut off the rubber section and crimped on a new longer rubber section. They pressure tested it and through in a couple crush washers and I was out the door in about 15 minutes for about $25. I also had to cut a couple zip ties holding my control wires in place to loosen them up. They had plenty of length.

Check this guys bars for Sporsters. This link may not fit your bike, but I am sure he has some that will. I am not a mechanic, but a part changer with service manual in hand. Hope this helps.
