Stiggy has nailed this. Worldwide there is a 'problem' in that bike manufacturers in particular are mandated by regulations (EPA in the USA) to produce quiet, low emissions bikes, but the owner is able to rip all that stuff the minute after they buy the bike. I fear the time will eventually come when we ain't allowed to make any of the mods we all regard as so worthwhile. In the meantime the manufacturers are keeping their heads down and not making quite so much noise!

Just my .02
I respect the .02 but,
No... the SE SP line are watered-down versions of the snarling beasts. grab an ebay pair and compare for yourself

People are actually getting tickets for loud pipes in some states. Not that se2s are that loud. They are on the tame side compared to most.

I agree with you but it depends on what size baffles you get with the Rush. I have 2" baffles and it was a little louder than the SEIIs, but similar in performance.

I just got an 03 883R with the SEII's on it. They are the perfect sound at idle with a carb.

I did wonder what SEII was on the muffler. i know what SE is and had never heard about SEII. They make beautiful music. Much better than Beethoven's 5th.

By the way since 1978 no vehicle on the road can have anything except OEM exhaust. EPA never has went against an individual but have fined muffler shops and manufacturers. V&H has paid large fines and a couple of other makers. They got Jesse James for a $300,000 fine in California a few years back for exhausts on his customers bikes. They left the customers alone.

As the nanny state grows it is only a matter of time that they will target individuals. EPA is different than the tickets by local enforcement for noise ordinances. The starting fine at EPA for non compliance with exhaust systems is $10,000.

The Radii slip ons are suppose to be like the old SE's in their design.
These are what I have and they have been on for over a year and a half with no issues.

The original S/E's were made by Kerker (now part of Supertrap,) for HD, if I recall.
Many of those style pipes, Rush, Custom Chromes house brand, Drag's Pythons, etc all ran similar style baffles back then.

I love those guys. Air-cooled Cruiser engines are like soothing music machines. I know that makes no sense but riding my raspy chainsaw is probably one of the most relaxing things ive ever done. Hearing another in the distance is also some how, relaxing now... no clue why. WOT sport bike wailing is not quite the same but, its over pretty fast... eeeerrrrrrrrrwwweeeeerrrrrrrrrrr... done
