Was at the dealer yesterday for 1000 service on a 07 1200. Tried to buy some rush slip ons and have the dealer install while I was there. Dealer would not do it without doing the A/C and EMI mod at the same time. Also stated changing the pipes would void the warrenty.

Isn't that special, Harley says talk to your dealer and the dealer says talk to Harley.. talk about passing the buck!! Seems like I get a different answer at every dealer too..

Get used to it. Unfortunately, for Harley. There are a few federal laws that prohibit them from just telling you the warranty is void. But in reality, do you want to go through all that hassle to fight them, or just fix the bike yourself? I've always chose the later. Harley's warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on, except for the few lucky folks that have a decent and COMPETENT service dept.

I would go with Vance and Hines or Rush both quality products with good chrome. My friend put Cycle Shacks on his sporty after he got it last year and was disapointed with them they are smaller than SE or Rush mufflers they looked cheap and sounded tinny and the chrome is not high quality. He has since put on VH side shots. Cycle shacks are cheap but sometimes there is a reason why.

V&H don't sound harsh or obnoxiously loud with the Quiet Baffles.

Screaming Eagles I or II what is the difference?
The difference is the shape of the tip...I think...

Can anyone else confirm to deny the A/C and EMI mod requirement? BTW I was reading the HD website and I they say that SE slips are not a a warranty buster.

A friend of mine has an '05 XL1200C she bought new with Screaming Eagle pipes already installed. Her bike sounds a bit louder and deeper than my '07 XL1200C with stock pipes.
