It's running good Dallas. I was riding it today and noticed some pinging though even after using 92 octane so I may have to get a different ignition to adjust the timing or it may also just need a rejet. The good thing is it is not dieseling anymore and they alsoaligned the rear wheel that the Harley dealer didn't do properly after putting on my new tires a few months back. I am getting my 50 mpg back again now woohoo! It had dropped to about 40 mpg the last few months, I am thinking there was an intake leak and that was what was causing the dieseling too. The bad news is I realized last night the brake light isn't coming on when I press the foot brake but it does with the hand brake. I imagine it's the rear brake switch which is fairly cheap.
I've got 210 miles on it since the conversion. Only 250 miles more or so till I can ride it like I want.

As I said in here in another post, I never ever heard a Sportster ever called a "chick bike" until just recenty. Lots of guys from my generation rode them and dreamed of getting one, and bikers all over the place were damn glad to have one if they could get one.
The problem is this newer generation of kids have a lot more money and a lot more sparkly Harley's to choose from, and some of them have little or no respect or knowledge for the past, and they don't know what they're talking about.
Remember, this is the generation of fake ***** and penal implants; a lot of the younger folks think that if they 'put on' a larger bike that somehow that makes them a bigger man or something.
Sportsters were the 'cool' Harley back when I was a young man. It was either that or a chopper if you wanted something that didn't look like a Model 74 boring police bike-looking thing or something like that, back then.
The only other Harley I ever wanted back then, besides a chopper, was a Lowrider, when they came out in '77. My jaw dropped the first time I saw one when a guy rode up on a brand-new fully dressed and bagged one at a 7/11 I and some friends were at. I didn't know what it was because they had just come out with them, and he didn't mind a bit showing it off and talking about it to all of us guys who were there.
If I could buy a brand-new '77 Lowrider today, I would. I like the new ones, but not nearly as much as I liked the first-year ones that I saw that day.
