my beloved sportster. im not a girl or a beginner. I like the lightness and compact looks. I wouldnt necessarily want to ride it 500 miles (at my age) for the same reason, its light and not as comfortrable on a long road trip. kinda like a fighter plane vs a bomber. two different equipment for two different jobs.

that said, it IS the lightest v twin harley, so yeah it would be a logical choice for a woman or a beginner who wants to get a Harley. better choice than an 800lb bagger. but FAR MORE "real men" have run sportsters than beginners or women.

Sorry, but they are for girls. And in most cases girls even think the sportster isn't enough bike. Truth hurts sometimes.

actually thats not any kind of "truth". its just what someone says when they want to embarrass themselves while thinking they are cool. imagine living decades and still thinking saying stupid stuff publicly to put others down is cool. sad.

my first real bike in the 70s was a Honda 750f supersport. One of the hottest bikes at the time. It weighed about 50lbs less than my sporty. and, I never called the guys with lesser bikes like 500's "girls". know why? because I didnt want to look like a rude ignoramus.

truth hurts sometimes.

What I have noticed is that Girls are a lot more likely to be riding Softails than Sportsters. So I guess those should be considered "Girls" bikes.

Me thinks they are. Whenever I stop at a place to eat chicks really dig it. So, yeah, truth doesn't hurt sometimes.

...Sportster is a girl's bike. Could be the silliest topic on the forum. Including, where do you put your gas cap.
