BTW, if I'm not mistaken, I believe that picture is of Sonny Barger, co-founder and president of the original Hell's Angels out of Oakland.
Here is another one of Mr. Barger in 1965, more clean shaven, sitting on a Sportster, what looks to me to be a '64 XL:

So, if you ever hear again some dumb punk ever tell you that a Sportster is a "girls bike," just tell him that the founder and head of the Hells Angels apparently didn't think so, and that he rode one at times while as head of the Hells Angels, as have various members of the Hells Angels throughout the years.

I play softball for a local bar.The owner is the former Leader of the Cleveland chapter of the Hells Angels. He told me if he had my '03 883r.He would have killed himself on it a long long time ago.He said he always had big twins cause he didnt want to go soooo fast.LOL.He can't ride anymore cause his back, but he would never call my ride a "GIRLS RIDE" thats for sure

The history of the club itself goes back much further, as it was established in 1948 at Fontana, CA. The San Francisco chapter was established in 1953.

Nope..never considered mine a girlie bike..that's some pretty kindergarden sounding crap if you ask me so consider the source..
Maybe some friends were just ribbing you? Some people do that and I wouldn't take it too serious if you know them personally - they're probably just messing with ya
I like my Sporty and f*ck whoever else doesn't..that's their problem - not mine.
Sometimes I wonder though if posts like these don't simply encourage other HD riders to keep ribbin folks cause they see it gets people stirred up?

Sporties are the nut. If I had it any other way, I'd own the same bike. I can afford a Superglide or Night train, but I love my Sportie.
I'm a proud owner of a Sportie and don't give a rat's *** what the cagers say about them. I'm a biker and ride everyday. All I know is my bike is mine and I get complements everyday about it.
Come on Ricer cruisers. Race me!
