Next time you see a pothole look for a path around it.You are much more likely to hit it if you look at the hole.Look where you want to go not at what you want to avoid.Ebola is right Pa has some huge holes in the road.I live about 20 miles north of the Burgh and remember one on 79 that had a car with a blown tire just past it everyday when I went to Neville Island for school.

I caught a rock with the front wheel of my 1200 C a few weeks back. I could have probably got by with just a new rim but I took it as an opportunity to eplace the laced wheel with a cast wheel. Now I am tubeless front and back which I like much better.

RE: Gotta love NJ potholes... wheel damage
The one and only time I laid a bike down at speed was because of a NJ pothole. Coming back from A.C. across one of those crappy wooden bridegs that gets paved over. Front wheel went in and I went over the bars at 60. I was wearing a leather jacket, glovesand FF helmet which really saved me. Managed to walk away from that with just road rash.
Oh, and I had to pick up the bike and push it out of traffic as people drove around it. Nobody even stopped.[:@]
I waited 10 min and drove her the rest of the way home at low speed.
I tried to get them to pay for the damage, needless to say that didn't work.
