I did the stage 1 with screamin eagle air cleaner,k&n filter, sceamin eagle coil, wires, plugs, and V&H straightshots.I used 170 and 45 jets.Should I go to a 180?Just wondering what you guys have used. Also with 180 is it even more power?

I'm pretty sure but I think 170 is the Stock size. 45/180 is usually the standard Stage1 change.

Yep, I used 45 and 180 works pretty well. I do need to re-adjust the air mixture screw now that warm weather seems to be here for good in this part of the world.

Mine is a 2005 and it had a 170 main jet in it already from the factory, I think the older Sporties pre rubber mount had 160 main jets.

Dynojet says that the 170 is Stage 1....exhaust and AC.

180 is if you have a moderate camshaft as well...at least for an 04-06 as that is what my wife's bike is.

160 should be stock for her bike....I haven't taken it apart yet.

Just wondering whats the veredict here, I'm about to Stage 1 my Sportster 883 and seen on Sportster.Org that 883's should go for 45-170 and 1200 go for 45-180.

But most of my research here in the forums showed that you guys are using 45-180 in the 883's!?

So what size should I use for a 883 in a 6000-7000 feet altitude town??!?!

If it means anything, I had mine rejetted/dyno'd and what I ended up with was a 46/190 on a 1200 custom. Weather or not that will work for you, will all depend on the bike. All I did was the Vance &amp\\; Hines Straightshots slipons with a se aircleaner kit. I live in Minnesota and we sit about 1000+ alt. or so. Oh, and this is on a '06. Sitting around 80HP too.

So it seams #45 #180 is the best choice for 883's dunno why sportster.org say that #180 should only be used on 1200's.
