Default My wife's XL1200 has had a makeover

My wife wanted some colour on her Sportster, we decided on burnt orange metallic to help it stand out, I started by sanding and fixing some minor blemishes in the tank. Everything was painted with base then clearcoat, baked then wet sanded with 2500 grit paper then polished to a high gloss finish. She need to get lower on the bike so we decided on the LePera bare bone solo seat. I modified the factory licence plate bracket to a laydown position to clean up the rear fender.

Bike looks much better, it's amazing how a few changes can make a bike look!

I'm saying this with the deepest respect for your wife and in the nicest way possible but this new color on her bike made my pants a little crowded.

The painter did one heck of a job. The richness of the paint comes across well on an internet photo. Bet your wife is very happy with it.

Looks good! Now you just need to get a slim tail light.

that's a great color, don't want to rain on the parade but why didn't you get the side covers done too? I'd still get them done in the orange, it would look even better.

lunatic,

I was going to do ghost flames as well but my wife wanted solid colours, she also wanted the battery and oil tank covers left black. Her bike her decision. If she changes her mind it's a quick and easy job
