Default Separating rear header pipe from muffler

My FSM indicated that to remove rear wheel I had to remove rear exhaust. Did that but muffler would not separate from header pipe so I removed all in one piece. I can twist the header a little but no way it is separating from from the muffler. I can see where there is rust in the joint. So I tried penetrating oil and no difference. Should I use the torch or maybe a heat gun which I have? Don't want to manhandle and mess up the chrome. TIA

WD40 the s**t out of it and leave overnight.
If that doesn't do it try some vibration and/or heat.

Heat gun sounds like a good idea.

Thanks, I used both WD and the heat gun as well as a cheapo strap wrench from HF and finally got the sucker loose. Going to wire wheel the joint and put back together with some copper grease.
