Hey Mike, i would recommend going with a Free Flowing Air Cleaner like the 636v. This Air Cleaner doesn't allow all of the hot, dry, dirty, oily air back in. With the 636v, you will be able to clean the filter, which is easily removed. The K&N filter also comes with a million mile warranty. You would need to get a Rain Sock with the 636v, this will also help you out. We also have a Cleaning Kit that would come in handy for you also. I've got you some before and after pictures below for you. Hope this helps you out. And if you are not wanting to get a new Air Cleaner i would recommend you going with the K&N filter.

These are of a twin cam, but will be the same concept for your sporty.
