I'm gonna vote for bare metal with a clear coat. I think it will highlite your forks, derby and valve covers.
After mocking them up, I agree and am going with bare metal. Sorry forgot to take pictures of the mock up but once I get a clear coat on and get them mounted up I'll post some pictures. Thanks everyone for your feedback.
Black seems to me to work with the character of your bike.
But..............
If you go bare/clear paint them with a clear lacquer to preclude rust issues.

Yup I just finished painting them with clear lacquer. I think they are gonna go well with the bike.
i would say black. your forks etc look chrome so I'm not sure the bare metal and chrome would match. shiny metal in comparison to dull metal. but maybe the clear gave it a bit more shine.
post a pic when you get them on so we can see the final product
Either one would look good on that bike, but I'd paint them so that rust wasn't a constant concern.
Exactly. If you do choose to run them without color then you'd have to coat them with something to keep them from rusting. Otherwise you're going to be breaking out the fine grit sandpaper fairly often.
I got the bars painted with the crystal clear enamle from Rustoleum. I am having issues with it not quite bonding to the metal right. The paint just flakes off with the slightest of abrasion. Any thoughts on what may be happening? It was a little cool when I painted, will that cause the results I have? Any suggestions on a good clear paint to use is appreciated. Thinking of checking into the cost of powder coating instead.
