05-1200c been running great for the last year , but this morning after 15 miles acts like its running out of gas . pulled over Idles fine but will only run at low speed . Able to pull the choke and nurse it home under half throttle overflow vent is clear , could the problem be in the gas shutoff - screen - vacume- or trash in carb- will be the weekend before I can deal with it . Any tips or hints will be much apreciated . Thanks

 

I personlly have not had that problem, but I have heard that other have had problems with the petcock. Its vaccum operated, which just begs for trouble. Everyone seems to switch to the Pingel Valve, which I will be doing.
This MAY be the problem you are having. The symtoms seems the same. Let us know what you find out.

 

Could be anything. Take it in, or buy a repair book.

 

i had a problem with mine a while back..seemed like it was running out ouf gas turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor..is your engine light coming on when this happens?

 

Got-er-fixed , ran a free flowing gas line into carb through a funnel , still had the problem . Then I ran some SEA-FOAM into carb Killed it let sit a few minutes . When I cranked her back up the gunk in the carb was cleand out . Test ride went great now I can get some sleep tonight, glad I didnt have to tear down the carb .
