First impressions of the tripper: It's very low and narrow at the front compared to the stock seat (and the mustang), I almost feel like I need extenders for my forward controls now. The seat is rather stiff, but it's only been ridden about 50 miles so far... so it may break in a bit softer. That said, stiff gives good support... so other than bad bumps, it felt pretty comfortable. The backrest totally changes the feel of the bike, and will be great for road trips. I'll report more when we've put some long days of riding in.

Here's a pic of the tripper on my bike:
Looks great, kinda makes me wish I had gotten the backrest now. Mine took a little while to break it. It was vastly improved after about 500 miles. It feels like a part of the bike now if that makes sense. I think you'll enjoy it.

And if not, hey, sell it and move on to something else.

I went from a LePera Bare Bones to a Mustang Wide Vintage with Back rest (I had Back Surgery last winter ) I'm more than happy with the Mustang, great look and very comfortable

My problem with the Wide Vintage is that the hump blocks attaching my Sport Tour Pack rack.

Thanks guys, but I'm really looking for feedback about the tripper, not the vintage. I already know how comfortable and popular the vintage is... that was the whole point of the thread

I have never ridden on a solo wide vintage but I can tell you I rode 700 miles in one day on the solo wide tripper and I love it. I have a dyna but a good seat is a good seat. I needed about 200 miles for the seat to really break in right. At about 500 it was perfect. I rode to CO and back from MT. a couple of years ago and put in about 3500 miles on the seat on that trip. There is no way I could have even tried on the stock seat. I can only speak for myself but after break in its the most comfortable seat I have used.

Hey mate, would it be possible to send some photos on how the wide tripper with backrest looks on your sportster?
How do you feel about the wide tripper compared to wide vintage?

thanks!
