Default exhaust mods-patriot & thunderheader

looking for some input. I have a patriot exhaust has anyone removed the butterfly valve or secured the the lever on the outside to not rattle?
For the thunderheader exhaust has anyone bent the taps on the inside & has it made a noticeable difference in the lower rpm range?

I have a patriot defender on the way and was planning on finding a way to cut it out once it arrives. I will let you know how it goes.

No experience with the Patriot. We have had quite a few folks use the Thunder Torque Inserts on the Thnuderheader to get a good bump in the low & mid ranger power...seems there is a flat spot/dip that the TTI's take care of.

Let me know how the valve removal goes. I thought about welding it in the open position from the outside. as far as the thunderheader I read somewhere if you bend the 3 or 4 tabs inside the cone it gets rid of the dip.

Hey Kevin I have a quick question - I currently have the VH twin slash slip ons on my sportster 48. It has the regular baffles in it.

IF I go the thunder torque route and remove my baffles, use the inserts - will I get BOTH a bit of a louder sound and increased power in the midrange? I'm trying to find the right combo here.....I know with the VH you have to drill to get the inserts in so I wanted to make sure I made the right decision. Thanks!

Im not a believer with bending the th tabs. I had the defender pipe flapper mounted soild on the outside with a sliver of metal. Finally cut the damnthing out. Sawzaw!!!! last, ive been running the defender with a straight pipe shoved inside of the collector. nastier sound and zero performance loss at any rpm. ive own both pipes
