Getting ready to have my Nightster tank painted for my 48. Can't decide if I want to go with denim black or go with vivid black. Going to the painter today but still can't decide.

The fenders are vivid black if I'm not mistaken, right? If so, in my opinion, I don't think the denim and vivid combo would look good. It could look more like a shade mismatch because they look too similar but slightly different. I would go vivid like the fenders or something completely different like a red or blue or whatever, if you get what I mean. I hope that makes since.

Was thinking about taking them in as well when I take the tank in. Vivid black would be easier to keep clean. Denim seems to be a pain to keep clean.

Vivid black gets my vote. Too many hipsters with the denim. My 1991 is vivid black and gets a lot more compliments than the "cookie cutter" denim black bikes you see everywhere today.

I'd vote vivid too for your 48. It is a classic look for a classic bike.

For the record after 6 years, My denim Fat Bob is 10000% the easiest paint to keep clean and take care of. 27,000 miles and No scratches, no dust, no wax. Just warm soapy water a few times a year and it looks showroom new. Practically maintenance free.

Sounds like you already decided, but my vote is for vivid black, too.

Vivid black, yeah, will save you hassle, and is as genuine as it can get.
