the memphis shade line has a quick release also.... only the mount stays on the forks.... but the windshield comes right off too...

The HD detachable leaves hardware on the bike as well. But it looks good with my aux lights.

Have you seen this one from HD? I was checking out some 1200N options, and came across it.

Changed it to a tiny url, since it's so damn long

Not my style. Almost seems wrong to put a windscreen on a 1200N though.

I have the quick release too. It is great. I take off for around town, but if I ride on the interstate, I put it back on.

I agree. I have no intention of putting one on my Nightster.

I have to go along with Hagar the Horrible. You won't want to be without it after awhile.

I have this one, and when removed (takes all of 15 seconds), it leaves NO hardware on the bike. Just release 4 four fork-tube clamps mounted on the windshield and it's off. Goes back on just as easily.

You'll be glad you had one when you start bouncing animals off it[:@]. Carry some water and a rag with you, though.

I have the HD Compact Quick Detachable Windshield and I love it! I bought it off Ebay for $177 delivered and the only time it comes off is for cleaning. I'm old, I don't like fighting wind, and I haven't ridden any distance without a windshield for something over 40 years. Windshield-free bikes are for youngsters who actually LIKE the taste of bugs.
