Question Cutting new handlebars

Here's the dilemma: Bought new Wild 1 Chubby Outlawz. During a dry-fit, I noticed that there is about 1" of 1" bar exposed between the clutch/brake bar clamp and the transition point between 1" to 1-1/4".
I want my clutch/brake clamp to fit flush against the 1-1/4" step, which would require me to cut an inch or so off of each bar end.
Has anyone done this? Doesn't look like a big deal, but was unexpected.
Thanks!

(Oops, just saw I posted in wrong forum, but should be the same. I ride a Night Train.

Might be worth calling Wild 1 to ask them, before picking up your hacksaw!

On the Suzuki forum for my old C50 I heard a couple of guys cut down their wide bars using a pipe cutter. It will most likely destroy the pipe cutter getting through the chrome but I think a cheap one from Lowes/HomeDepot would work.

I've got a 12" metal saw, I'm waiting now on the OK from Wild 1's. Just wondered if anyone else has run into this.

Use a pipe cutter. The cutting wheel is replaceable leaves a clean straight cut. Actually bevels the pipe end inward. Easier then hacksaw and grinding.

I cut mine. I made my own bars out of .125" thick steel. I left the grip area long so I could trim them to the narrowest possible width. No reason you can't hack them off.

Just got email from Wild 1's, told me whack away. Some grips are shorter than stock.
