It was my OL's second Sportster. She wanted a Switchback, to have bags for carrying her girl stuff (plus, my spare gloves/sweatshirt), and I already had two bikes myself, so we traded it in. I removed some stuff before selling, and sold the bob-tail fender to a forum member, who used it on a custom trike.
She had that bike for 10 years/50,000 miles, and rode it very well, but she says she doesn't miss it.
Thanks for the nice compliment. I'll tell her you made a favorable comment about it. She'll appreciate that.

To sell or to keep my fairing?
Also have this posted on another thread but trying to get input quickly and this thead is in line with the bagger look with fairings.
Your HONEST opinions please..positive or negative. I won't be offended. Just trying to determine if I should spend a few hundred more to color match/pinstripe and change my headlight to a 7"

Did not install the 5" tinted windshield yet since did not want to scratch it. The fairings are just sitting on the mounts. It is not set in the exact position since I am having difficulty getting the fairing bracket on the rubber HD mounts. Is this common?

Not a fan of fairings myself, but it would look great color matched/pinstriped with the 7" headlamp. JMHO

Thanks sgthwjack. Yeah painted and pinstriped would make a big difference, but if can't pass this stage no sense spending $400+ to paint/pinstripe and another $75 for a 7" headlight. Fairing was only $180 shipped so not a big deal if its a no-go but the score is 4-0 to proceed.

Just painted and pinstriped the batwing fairing. Here are some pics of the fairings installed but not totally adjusted onto the bike. Still need to adjust location of headlight and get it onto the mounts.

hscic - Damn that is sweet looking!
Can't wait to see it completed & hear how it rides.

Hope to start my winter project with mini apes & fairing.
My biggest concern is being able to get the fairing at the correct height vs my eye level.

I must say I was skeptical at first but I think the finished product looks amazing. Fairing looks as it belongs and those fat spokes complete the custom big wheel bagger look. Awesome job man!

Let's see some more pics of the whole bike maybe in a daylight setting.

Thanks guys...I hope to get it done in time for the Toys for Tots Parade on Sunday.

Will find out how it works deflecting wind and hopefully can take some outdoor pics then. Merlot Sunglow just sparkles and looks amazing in the sun..and that's a stock color.
