So I had a mishap with the wrench and the tank suffered its not dented or anything but gouged to the point where I need to repaint it, its not anything I want to live with being right on top.

So I either repaint myself or pay someone with that being the known issue. Im considering changing tanks simply for cosmetic reasons to the 3.3 indented tank here it says its for EFI bikes 07-14.
Since either my current or the new one in the end will need to be painted can I just take my parts from my current and place into new? Will i need any new parts or can I just reuse? Also Ive had my tank off before any special tools to remove the pump assembly ect?
I should mention my bikes a "2007 Olive denim Nightster" I plan on staying with that color and since I cannot obtain the true paint code looks like Im buying paint from harley.

 

Most auto paint suppliers can match the paint for you if you take them a matching part. In this case you may have to walk into the shop with the tank.

 

Aquireing the paint code wasnt really my main reason for posting but, thx for the reply. I will say that I have gone to 2 differnt places paid 10$ to one and N/C at the other they both put the gun/camera on my bike and couldnt get a exact match off the Olive Denim Flake the one I paid $10 too mixed a batch of paint that was Close but in the end did not match.
