UK A2 restricted sportster riders are there any of you ?
Hi guys, I am after info from any fellow Brits who may have or know someone who has a sportster and rides on an A2restricted licence,
for the rest of you, in the UK if you are under 21 or pass you bike test on a 125cc machine you can only ride a bike restricted to 25kw or 33 bhp, you can take a direct access course on a lager bike but you can only ride it when on training with a qualified instructor and be over 21 years old.
problem is my wife is only 5ft tall, she is over 21, but and we cant find a training centre with a low enough bike for her to train and take her test on, so it looks like she will have to take the test on a 125 cc bike and once she passes she can only ride a restricted bike (33bhp) for 2 years.
we are looking to buy an 883 low and have to get it restricted (or 1200 lowif we can find a low training bike) for her,
we cant use my lowrider as her feetdon't touch the ground.
so worst case, she takes her test on a 125 and can only ride a restricted bike.
so how does a restricted 883 perform ?
how fast will a restricted 883 go ?
can a 1200 be restricted ?
what bhp does an 883 / 1200 produce in standard form ?
and any other information anyone can offer me would be of great help
many thanks Steve
