Rich builds a truly custom seat, unlike "customs" where you order one of the standard seats from a catalog.

He starts with the factory seat (usually), and shaves off all the foam down to the pan. Then foam is added back, the carved to an initial shape, then you take your bike for a ride on the prototype. You return, give him feedback, and the seat is shaped again. Repeat as required.

I wanted to be higher, further back, and more comfortable than the stock seat. I went out four times, and came back each time with things like "a little higher and a little more forward". Rich would do that, adding foam back if necessary, and reshaping as required.

Finally I reported the seat as just right and the gel insert was added, then covered (black pebbly leather on the top, smooth black leather on the sides) and stitched (one thread line blue to match the tank) as I requested. Custom custom seat.

Yes, I know it looks a little unusual, but it's exactly what I asked for, fits my butt perfectly, and I have yet to ride it long enough to get any discomfort at all.

Type of background / Foreground that I like. Most of the pix have a bike on the foreground and a background that takes too much attention off the viewer. The idea can be improved by adding/removing some other elements into the shot.
