i had my bike custom painted and also added some graphics on the fenders and gas tank last year and i just had the side covers painted to match the bike. it makes such a difference on the bike. i will post pics within the next few days cause i left my camera at work for the weekend

 

I painted mine blue and called it a day.

 

I like what you did. Mine had the chrome when I got it, but I still have the original black ones, and if ever I decide what to do about graphics, I'll get the originals painted to match the rest of the bike.

I color matched my side covers. It looks good to me. A much better flow in the bikes lines.

 

I have been thinking of some airbrushed flames. Mybike is rich sunglo blue.
