so I put everything back into place carefully, put the bottom form like the top one was looking like. removed all the old shitty trans oil, changed all the necessary gaskets, went and buy a torque wrench.
Cranked it and the bike is working beautifully. Adjusted everything clutch wise and now it runs better than before. shifts smoother.
all in all it cost me 300 bucks in gaskets, oil and tools. I also did a full service on it, thx to the harley bible it was super easy.
BTW, I have a digital version of the manual for my 2011 sportster so if anyone need to do a specific job, send me a message and I can send you the pages you need. paid 17 bucks for it so might as well share it....

definitely will be looking closely. I was missing an inspection cover screw for some reason so I am thinking the water was probably coming through there. Also I had never torqued anything properly so I went over all the bolts and did that. Hopefully it won't happen again.
I am also baffled that they would put such a tiny gauge piece of junk spring to retain the shaft forks.....sometimes engineers must think "hey let's do this and see how much money mechanics will make off of that poor design"

My 01 sporty was getting water in primary. Finally found where water was entering primary was where the stator wires came through the case.
Its probally to late to tell you my trick on the derby quad ring, I'll put 6 dots of contact cement on the ring and glue it in place on the primary, stays in place and i reuse it with no issues, yet.
